The reign of Christ with His saints
The reign of Christ with His saints over the earth will last 1000 years. See Daniel 2:44, 7:27, Romans 8:17, 2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 2:26, Luke 19:17-19, Revelation 20:4-6.
The glorified saints. During the reign of Christ the saints will be with Christ in glorified bodies—engaging in the affairs of earth in much the same way that the angels do now. See Matthew 22:29-30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20:35-36. Some may object to the concept of mixing of those with glorified bodies with those inhabitants of the nations on earth who will not be glorified. Yet this has happened before as angels interacted with men and also at the Mount of transfiguration where glorified believers were present on the earth in the presence of the unglorified.
Jerusalem will be pre-eminent among the nations. The city of Jerusalem will be a centre of millennial worship. Cp Zechariah 14:16-21, Isaiah 2:3, Micah 3:12-4:2, Isaiah 66:23.
During this entire period the creation will cease to groan as it does now. The effects of the curse of God upon sin will be lifted. Cp Romans 8:21-22, Acts 3:20-21, Isaiah 11:6-8, 65:25.
Human life during this time will be extended far beyond its present limits. Cp Isaiah 65:19-22.
The final rebellion. Although during the millennial reign of Christ the knowledge of the Lord’s glory will fill the earth (Habakkuk 2:14); and Satan will be bound (Revelation 20:1-3); and so incentives to evil have been removed; yet, many thousands of earth’s inhabitants will be unregenerate. This is seen to be the case because at the end of the millennium Satan is released for a little time and he amasses an army of deceived souls from the earth to attack Jerusalem. God will destroy them by fire. Cp Numbers 14:21, Isaiah 11:9, Habakkuk 2:14, Revelation 20:7-9.
Satan will now be finally cast into the lake of fire and brimstone. Cp Revelation 20:10
The earth and the heaven will pass away and the last enemy, death, will be destroyed. Cp Revelation 20:11, 2 Peter 3:7, 10, Revelation 20:14, 1 Corinthians 15:24-26.
The great white throne. The rest of the dead are raised and the final judgment takes place. Cp Revelation 20:5, 11-15.
Then will come the end. The Lord Jesus will deliver up the kingdom He had received to His Father, that God may be all in all. Cp Daniel 7:13-14, Luke 19:12, 1 Corinthians 15:24.
